What this site is
This site describes the Gatekeep Shopify app and lists the product categories it covers. It is offered free and without registration. The rule library itself is not published here: it is researched privately and applied at checkout by the app, so there are no rule pages on this site to read.
What it is not
It is not legal advice, and using it creates no lawyer-client relationship. Nothing on this site is an offer to supply the app, which has its own terms. See the full disclaimer.
Accuracy and currency
Rules are researched from primary sources and re-checked on a schedule described on sources and methods. Legislatures amend and repeal, courts strike provisions down, and agencies reinterpret, so a rule can be correct when it was reviewed and wrong later. Gatekeep is not a substitute for your own compliance decisions.
No warranty
The library is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own compliance decisions.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Gatekeep is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on this site, including lost sales, fines, penalties or enforcement action. If you need an answer you can rely on, take advice from a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.
Using the content
You may read, link to and quote the pages on this site, including for commercial purposes. The rule library is not published here and is not licensed to you; it reaches you through the app, on the app's terms. The underlying statutes and regulations are public documents and are not ours to license.
The Shopify app
These terms cover this website only. The Gatekeep Shopify app is a separate paid product governed by the app terms of service, and nothing here is an offer to supply it.
